The main plaza at the summit of Cerro San Cristóbal

A large water fountain just steps from the top of the iconic San Cristóbal Hill is what defines Plaza México. It features seating areas for resting and a few local shops along the way as you head up toward Bellavista Terrace.

It’s the final stop for the eco-friendly buses, and here you’ll find the meeting point to hop on or off.

Like other attractions in Parquemet—such as the Anahuac Cultural Center and the Tupahue Mural—the name of this plaza reflects the bond between the peoples of Chile and Mexico.

What to See at Plaza México?

This is a great resting spot before climbing the final meters to the summit of San Cristóbal. Here you’ll find Bellavista Terrace with a spectacular panoramic view of the city, food and craft stalls, the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, and many more attractions.

From Plaza México, you can also walk toward the Manuel Foster Observatory—a unique experience where you can explore this historic site and learn about the cosmos.
