Santiago adds a new experience high above the city with the opening of the Teleférico Pío Nono on San Cristóbal Hill. Starting Tuesday, March 3, its trial run begins, during which people can sign up to get tickets and be part of the first official rides on the new route.
The Teleférico Pío Nono was created to expand connectivity and the tourist experience on the hill, providing a new access point from the Bellavista area and strengthening the link between nature, heritage and the city.
This new route has two stations: Zoológico and Manuel Foster, connecting key points of the Metropolitan Park such as the National Zoo, the Manuel Foster Observatory and all the attractions around the summit of the hill.
The system has 24 cabins, each for 8 people, and a total route of 1 kilometer, which takes about 7 minutes, offering privileged panoramic views of Santiago, the Andes and the natural surroundings of the hill. The experience is designed to be comfortable, safe and accessible for both tourists and residents.
With this new route, which joins the classic Pedro de Valdivia route, Teleférico Santiago continues to establish itself as the capital’s main tourist attraction, bringing together history, landscape and nature in a single ride.
Passengers can combine rides on both Teleférico Santiago routes, and choose tickets that include the Funicular and the Panoramic Buses for a complete experience around San Cristóbal Hill.
