Tupahue Station

Tupahue Station is an iconic spot—it’s the midway stop on the Santiago Cable Car and is located in the heart of Cerro San Cristóbal, within Parquemet. This station is known for being surrounded by fun attractions, including playgrounds, a swimming pool, walking trails, and plenty of spots to explore. At this stop, you can also switch to the Panoramic Buses or continue your journey to the summit, where you can hop on the Santiago Funicular.

The name of this station, “Tupahue,” comes from the Mapuche language and means “place of God.” Tupahue Station is a key connection point to trails that lead to all the park’s entrances. Depending on your ticket, you can hop off here and explore various attractions within the fourth-largest urban park in the world.

What to Visit at Tupahue Station?

At Tupahue Station on the Cable Car route, you’ll be just a few steps from the Anahuac Cultural Center, well known for hosting cultural activities on weekends.

Tupahue Pool is also just steps away from this station. This traditional pool opens during the summer season to welcome visitors looking to enjoy a refreshing swim in the heart of the hill.

The Mapulemu Botanical Garden is another nearby attraction, featuring 4.5 hectares of native Chilean flora. Its name in Mapudungún means “forest of the land,” and it’s home to native species such as mañíos, peumos, boldos, corcolén, espinos, and more.

Gabriela Mistral Plaza is another nearby spot, where the little ones can have fun with the educational playground equipment—including refurbished tractors, interactive musical games, and much more.

Also, at Tupahue Station itself, you’ll find a Delicatto Café location—this is where the handcrafted ice creams sold at various Delicatto spots throughout Cerro San Cristóbal are made. It’s the perfect spot to take a break, try one of the best ice creams in Santiago, and continue your journey on the Cable Car.
